What Issues Can Dental Crowns Correct?

In this video, Dr. Aaron Bratton explains how dental crowns provide reliable restoration and reinforcement for damaged, misaligned, or worn teeth. Schedule a consultation at Atkins Dental Clinic today to explore how crowns can improve your smile and protect your dental health.

Whether performing a smile makeover, full mouth rehabilitation, or simply repairing a single damaged tooth, a dental crown is one of the most reliable solutions for restoration and reinforcement. If a tooth is misaligned or twisted, a crown can be placed over it to correct its position, achieving results similar to orthodontic treatment but in just two appointments over the course of a week.

A crown, sometimes called a cap, is often necessary when a tooth has had multiple fillings and has begun to break down, or when years of wear have caused sensitivity and structural weakening. Unlike a filling, which only restores part of a tooth, a crown provides full coverage and reinforcement, helping the tooth withstand normal chewing forces.

For individuals with severe wear, such as teeth worn down to small nubs, crowns play a crucial role in restoring function and appearance. When back teeth wear down over time, the front teeth also lose height, leading to further imbalance. In cases where significant structural loss has occurred, a full mouth reconstruction is needed to rebuild the back teeth first, creating the space necessary to restore the front teeth.

To prevent excessive wear from continuing, we also offer occlusal adjustments, which help rebalance the bite and slow the progression of tooth wear. This can often prevent the need for full mouth reconstruction by addressing the underlying cause before severe damage occurs.

Dental Implants Cost: What You Should Know Before Treatment

When people ask about how much dental implants cost, they often hope for a single, straightforward number. In reality, the answer rarely works that way. Are One-Piece Dental Implants a Simpler Option for Tooth Replacement?

At first, one-piece dental implants may seem like just another tooth-replacement option. How Clear Aligner Treatment Can Improve Daily Dental Care

Clear aligner treatment has become a familiar orthodontic option for teens and adults alike, and its appeal is easy to understand. As you progress through the series, your smile gradually [...]

Rethinking Implant Surgery With Mini Dental Implants

When many of us consider implant surgery, we may picture the most involved version of the process. We envision gum incisions, drilling, stitches, and a long healing period before a replacement tooth is even placed. For many patients, that mental image creates a pause. Implant treatment starts to feel like something they may consider someday, but not right now. [...]

Understanding the Cost of Mini Dental Implants [A Video Guide]

The cost of mini dental implants is often one of the first questions patients ask, and for good reason. Any treatment that involves replacing missing teeth deserves careful consideration. But cost means more than a number on a treatment estimate. It also reflects what the treatment is built to do. Mini dental implants are small titanium posts that Dr. [...]
