Is Getting a Mini Dental Implant Painful?

In this video, Dr. Aaron Bratton explains why dental implant placement is often easier and less painful than a tooth extraction, with most patients recovering quickly. Schedule a free consultation at Atkins Dental Clinic today to learn more about your options for comfortable, high-quality implant treatment.

If you need a dental implant, you have already undergone a tooth extraction. I can assure you that placing an implant is typically much easier than removing a natural tooth.

The reason is simple: when we place an implant, we immediately fill the space with a stable fixture, reducing the amount of healing required. With less healing, there is less inflammation, which means less discomfort. While there are always individual variations, my experience over 11 years and hundreds of implant cases has shown that the vast majority of patients find implant placement easier and less painful than tooth extraction.

On average, most patients feel back to normal within 72 hours. Some recover even faster. One patient, at their 24-hour post-op visit, told me they hadn’t eaten peanuts in seven years. After the procedure, they were able to enjoy them again immediately, with no issues.

While every case is unique, the general consensus among my patients is that implant placement is a smoother and faster-healing process compared to tooth extraction.

Dental Implants Cost: What You Should Know Before Treatment

When people ask about how much dental implants cost, they often hope for a single, straightforward number. In reality, the answer rarely works that way. Because of that, dental implant treatment [...]

Are One-Piece Dental Implants a Simpler Option for Tooth Replacement?

At first, one-piece dental implants may seem like just another tooth-replacement option. Implant dentistry already comes with plenty of terminology, and another category can feel like one more detail to sort through. Yet the structure of a dental implant can affect how treatment is planned, how many components are involved, and how efficiently the final restoration comes together. Think [...]

How Clear Aligner Treatment Can Improve Daily Dental Care

Clear aligner treatment has become a familiar orthodontic option for teens and adults alike, and its appeal is easy to understand. These removable, discrete trays fit over the teeth and guide them into better position through a series of small, planned movements. Each aligner applies gentle pressure to specific teeth. As you progress through the series, your smile gradually [...]

Rethinking Implant Surgery With Mini Dental Implants

When many of us consider implant surgery, we may picture the most involved version of the process. We envision gum incisions, drilling, stitches, and a long healing period before a replacement tooth is even placed. For many patients, that mental image creates a pause. Implant treatment starts to feel like something they may consider someday, but not right now. [...]

Let’s be real for a second: when most people search for dental implant costs in 2026, they’re bracing for sticker shock. That fear makes sense. Traditional implants have long carried a price tag that puts them out of reach for a lot of folks in our community. But here at Atkins Dental Clinic, we don’t think the cost of [...]

Understanding the Cost of Mini Dental Implants [A Video Guide]

The cost of mini dental implants is often one of the first questions patients ask, and for good reason. Any treatment that involves replacing missing teeth deserves careful consideration. But cost means more than a number on a treatment estimate. It also reflects what the treatment is built to do. Mini dental implants are small titanium posts that Dr. [...]
