If you have decided that implant dentures are the right option for you, the next step is understanding how to care for and maintain them.
For removable implant dentures, care is similar to that of traditional dentures. You will need to remove them daily for cleaning, soak them in a denture solution, and brush them as recommended.
For fixed implant dentures, which are permanently cemented in place, the care routine is different. These dentures are made from a different material than removable ones and should be brushed with toothpaste and rinsed with mouthwash as you would with natural teeth.
Additionally, for fixed dentures, I strongly recommend using a water flosser (sometimes referred to by the brand name Waterpik). This device uses pressurized water to clean underneath the appliance, reaching areas that traditional floss cannot. Since fixed dentures are designed to fit snugly against your gums to prevent food from trapping, a water flosser is the most effective way to maintain hygiene in those hard-to-reach areas.
By following these care guidelines, you can ensure the longevity and cleanliness of your implant dentures.
