If you have decided that implant dentures are the right option for you, the next step is understanding how to care for and maintain them.

For removable implant dentures, care is similar to that of traditional dentures. You will need to remove them daily for cleaning, soak them in a denture solution, and brush them as recommended.

For fixed implant dentures, which are permanently cemented in place, the care routine is different. These dentures are made from a different material than removable ones and should be brushed with toothpaste and rinsed with mouthwash as you would with natural teeth.

Additionally, for fixed dentures, I strongly recommend using a water flosser (sometimes referred to by the brand name Waterpik). This device uses pressurized water to clean underneath the appliance, reaching areas that traditional floss cannot. Since fixed dentures are designed to fit snugly against your gums to prevent food from trapping, a water flosser is the most effective way to maintain hygiene in those hard-to-reach areas.

By following these care guidelines, you can ensure the longevity and cleanliness of your implant dentures.

How Clear Aligner Treatment Can Improve Daily Dental Care

Clear aligner treatment has become a familiar orthodontic option for teens and adults alike, and its appeal is easy to understand. These removable, discrete trays fit over the teeth and guide them into better position through a series of small, planned movements. Each aligner applies gentle pressure to specific teeth. As you progress through the series, your smile gradually [...]

The Best Implant Options in 2026 for Comfort, Cost, and Timing [Video Q&A]

When people search for the best dental implant options in 2026, the word “best” usually comes with a few follow-up questions. Best for comfort? Best for cost? What about a faster treatment timeline? For many patients, the answer depends on what feels most important at the start. The idea of implant surgery may feel overwhelming, especially for those who [...]

How the Mini Dental Implant Process Can Reduce Treatment Costs

At Atkins Dental Clinic, mini dental implant treatment helps us revisit a question many patients have already answered for themselves: “Are implants even possible for me?” Cost is often part of that concern, but it is rarely the only one. If you have spent time reading about dental implants, you have probably seen the same version of treatment described [...]

Rethinking Implant Surgery With Mini Dental Implants

When many of us consider implant surgery, we may picture the most involved version of the process. We envision gum incisions, drilling, stitches, and a long healing period before a replacement tooth is even placed. For many patients, that mental image creates a pause. Implant treatment starts to feel like something they may consider someday, but not right now. [...]

Dental Implant Costs in 2026: Why Mini Implants Change the Math

Let’s be real for a second: when most people search for dental implant costs in 2026, they’re bracing for sticker shock. That fear makes sense. Traditional implants have long carried a price tag that puts them out of reach for a lot of folks in our community. But here at Atkins Dental Clinic, we don’t think the cost of [...]

Understanding the Cost of Mini Dental Implants [A Video Guide]

The cost of mini dental implants is often one of the first questions patients ask, and for good reason. Any treatment that involves replacing missing teeth deserves careful consideration. But cost means more than a number on a treatment estimate. It also reflects what the treatment is built to do. Mini dental implants are small titanium posts that Dr. [...]

Do Clear Aligners Work as Well as Braces? Here’s How They Compare

Do clear aligners work compared to braces? It’s a question that tends to come up for a reason. A clear, flexible tray does not appear to match the strength of metal brackets and wires, so it raises a fair question about how it actually performs. At Atkins Dental Clinic, we have treated many orthodontic cases with clear aligners and [...]

Why Minimally Invasive Dental Implants Expand Your Treatment Options

Minimally invasive dental implants broaden eligibility. Traditionally, candidacy relied on available bone and the scope of surgery. With bone loss or more involved procedures, options often felt limited before being fully considered. Eligibility, though, is not defined by one standard. It is a way to evaluate your overall health and determine how treatment can work. Sometimes that means preparing [...]
